Other Than Disney, What Else Does Orlando Have To Offer?

Yes, Orlando is home to the famous and quintessential Disney amusement park that families from all over the world travel to experience. But, as a bustling and formidable economic hub in Central Florida, the city has a lot more to offer than  Animal Kingdom and EPCOT within the Disney resort.

Different Entertainment

For starters, Disney isn’t the only amusement park option in the region. Right now, the Wizarding World of Harry Potter is actually the #1 most visited amusement institution in the region, depicting the sets and wizardry world from J.K. Rowling’s famous series. Additionally, Universal’s Island of Adventure and Universal Studios are two other highly visited entertainment options, all situated near Disney. For a more adult entertainment option, there’s La Nouba, Cirque du Soleil performances that are enchanting for any kind of date night.

Exhibitions

Aside from fun and games, Orlando is serious when it comes to exhibitions and educational opportunities for visitors and residents. There’s the famous Kennedy Space Center, with interactive displays and tons of information regarding our nation’s space program. There’s also Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition for history buffs. Plus, there is a slew of other museums and opportunities that will really acquaint you with American history.

Airboat Rides

As a Central Florida city, Orlando sits close in proximity to the famous swamplands that cover Central Florida. Though you shouldn’t go swimming in these areas or attempt to travel them alone, through airboat companies, you can experience the raw primal scenery and watch alligators from the safety of your boat. Even locals who have lived their all their lives state that they still take airboat rides from time to time.

Golfing

Orlando is a big convention center destination for big businesses today, which means it comes with the classic corporate entertainment structure that everyone knows and loves today. If you’re into golfing, Orlando is home to some of the top golfing courses in the country today. Check out the likes of the Congo River Adventure Golf for a more interactive experience. If you hit your ball into a pond, do not go into the water to fetch it.

Overall, Orlando offers as many outdoors entertainment options as you could imagine for a city located in beautiful, hot weather. If you want a more relaxed afternoon, don’t forget about the live performance options and museums situated right in the center of the city.
